چکیده

We present results of mapping observations of the DNC, HNC, and HCO lines (J=1-0) toward 4 nearby dark cloud cores, TMC-1, L1512, L1544, and L63, along with observations of the DNC and HNC lines (J=21) toward selected positions. By use of statistical equilibrium calculations based on the LVG model, the H2 densities are derived to be (1.4-5.5)×10 5 cm, and the [DNC]/[HNC] ratios are derived to be 1.25-5.44 with a typical uncertainty by a factor of 2. The observed [DNC]/[HNC] ratios range from 0.02 to 0.09, assuming the [C]/[C] ratio of 60. Distributions of DNC and HNC are generally similar to each other, whereas the distribution of HCO is more extended than those of DNC and HNC, indicating that they reside in an inner part of the cores than HCO. The [DNC]/[HNC] ratio is rather constant within each core, although a small systematic gradients are observed in TMC-1 and L63. Particularly, no such systematic gradient is found in L1512 and L1544, where a significant effect of depletion of molecules is reported toward the central part of the cores. This suggests that the [DNC]/[HNC] ratio would not be very sensitive to depletion factor, unlike the [DCO]/[HCO] Current address: Earth Rotation Division, National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, Osawa 2-21-1, Mitaka, Tokyo 181-8588, Japan; [email protected]

Line Observations of a Carbon - Chain - Rich Core L 492

We report on molecular abundances and distributions in a starless dense core L492. We have found that the abundances of carbon-chain molecules such as CCS, C3S, HC3N, HC5N, and HC7N are comparable to those in chemically young dark cloud cores called ”carbon-chain–producing regions”, such as L1495B, L1521B, L1521E, and TMC-1. This is the first dark cloud core with extremely rich in carbon-chain-...

Dark cloud chemistry in initially H-rich regions

The chemistry in dark regions of dense cores is explored as a function of the initial abundance ratio of H to H2, on the assumption that some cores form on a timescale and are younger than the time required for the H:H2 ratio to attain its equilibrium value. Observational diagnostics of non-equilibrium values of the initial H:H2 ratio are identified. In initially H-rich material, the abundances...

The Structure of Prestellar Cores as derived from ISO Observations

Observations of dark cloud cores have been carried out in the midinfrared using ISOCAM and in the far-infrared using ISOPHOT, both aboard the Infrared Space Observatory. The cores are in most cases detected in emission at 200 and 170μm, remain undetected at 90μm and are seen in absorption against the diffuse mid-infrared background at 7μm. The observations are consistent with the cores being pr...

A multi-transition molecular line study of inward motions towards massive star-forming cores

Amulti-transition 3mmmolecular line single-pointing and mapping survey was carried out towards 29 massive star-forming cores in order to search for the signature of inward motions. Up to seven different transitions, optically thick lines HCO(1-0), CS(2-1), HNC(1-0), HCN(1-0), CO(1-0) and optically thin lines CO(1-0), CO(1-0) were observed towards each source. The normalized velocity differences...

L1521E: A Starless Core in the Early Evolutionary Stage ?

We have studied the physical and chemical properties of a quiescent starless core L1521E with various molecular lines. It is found that there exists a compact dense core traced by the HCO, HNC, CCS, and HC3N lines; their distributions have a single peak at the same position. The core radius is as small as 0.031 pc, whereas the H2 density at the peak position is as high as (1.3-5.6)×105 cm−3. Al...
